I enjoy waking up at 4:30am gather my photo gear and meet my models, my assistant, and makeup artist on South Beach 20 minutes before sunrise. We are all quite sleepy but the spirits are high!
At 6:30 am when the sun starts to rise my adrenalin level rises with it as I try to make sure that everything is perfect- the posing of the model, the lights, angles- and I get the most number of flawless shots in about 10-15 minutes. That's all the time I get to capture the beautiful orangy gentle glow of the sun. After the 15 minutes of racing with the sun we can loosen up but now the heat makes our job a bit of a struggle. But I don't care... I'm lying down in the sand sweaty, sandy all over and I just love every minute of it! Here are some samples of my work at sunrise.
